Need Help with Packing and Unpacking?
Full packing, partial packing, or unpacking only, whichever part of the job you'd rather not do yourself, we can take it off your hands.
Not every move needs the same kind of help. Some customers want everything packed for them; others just want a hand with the fragile or awkward items; some have already packed and simply want everything unpacked and put away at the other end. All three are available separately, so you only pay for the part you actually need.
What's Included in Our Packing and Unpacking London Service
Proper materials make the real difference between a smooth move and a damaged one, so we don't cut corners here:
- Sturdy boxes in a range of sizes
- Bubble wrap and packing paper for fragile and delicate items
- Wardrobe boxes, so hanging clothes travel on the rail rather than folded into a box
- Specialist wrapping for awkward or valuable pieces
Everything is packed properly the first time, which means less risk of damage and a much easier unpacking process at the other end.
Packing Room by Room
Kitchen Kitchens are usually the most time-consuming room to pack — plates, glasses, and appliances all need different handling. (Link to the Kitchen Packing Guide blog post once it's live, for readers who'd rather do this room themselves.)
Fragile Items & Valuables Glassware, ornaments, artwork, and anything sentimental gets extra wrapping and careful placement in the van, not just bubble wrap and hope. (Link to the How to Pack Fragile Items blog post once it's live.)
Wardrobe & Clothing Hanging clothes go straight into wardrobe boxes on their hangers, so nothing needs re-ironing when you arrive. Folded items are packed by type, making unpacking at the other end much quicker.
If you're moving a full household and want everything packed as part of the move, our House Removals service can include full packing as part of the booking. If you're only moving a few items or a single room, our Man and Van London service is usually the better fit, and packing can still be added if you need it.
Our Unpacking Service
Packing is only half the job; unpacking at the other end is just as much effort, and it's often the part people are most tired for after moving day.
Our unpacking service means boxes are opened, items are placed where you want them, and packing materials are cleared away, so you're not left surrounded by cardboard on your first night in a new home. You can book unpacking on its own, even if you packed and moved everything yourself, or as part of a full packing and unpacking service from start to finish.
Packing Yourself? A Few Quick Tips
f you'd rather pack yourself and just want a hand with the rest, here are a few quick tips to start with:
- Pack heavier items in smaller boxes, so they stay manageable to lift.
- Label each box with the room it's going to, not just what's inside — it makes unloading much faster.
- Wrap fragile items individually, then pack them tightly so nothing can shift in transit.
